PSA Tour squash made a welcome return to Parkview Squash Centre this evening for the Assore/Balwin Joburg Open Squash Championship.

While three women’s seeds fell in the first round all the men’s seeds won through to the quarter-finals.

WC Cheyna Tucker played good constructive squash to beat [7] Kimberley McDonald, while Tayla  Diepenbroek showed a return to form beating [8] Bongi Seroto in straight games. The highlight of the evenings play was the match between two juniors with [5] Yasshmita Jadishkumar beat Savannah Ingledew in four tough games. Both of these young players will be tough to beat in the future.

Local squash enthusiasts are looking forward to seeing the next round of matches.
