A titanic struggle between
Stephen Coppinger (RSA)
and Kelvin Ndhlovu (Zambia)

Kelvin Ndhlovu caused 2 upsets along his way to the final round ousting 2nd seed Rodney Durbach in the quarter finals and 4th seed Mike Tootill in the semis.

Steve Coppinger avenged his semi final defeat in the first leg in Cape Town against Clinton Leeuw with a reversed scoreline.

Once again we saw an epic quarter final match between Zuko Kubukeli and Mike Tootill in which Mike managed to fight back from 2-0 down to claim his semi final berth. The semis proved one match too far for the seasoned campainer though he put up a good fight.

Local interest was spurred on when Gary Naidoo looked threatening in his first round encounter with Clinton Leeuw, Gary levelled the score at 1-1 before Clinton pulled away to secure his win.

In the final Stephen Coppinger in front of a full house took control of the early stages of the match and won the first game. Kelvin then had a great run of 7 consecutive points while facing 5 game balls to level the match at 1-1. After that the Zambian struggled with the high pace set by Stephen as he found the last two games run away from him.

Stephen claimed his first Super Squash Series of 2010 with a 11-4 10-12 11-5 11-2 win. There's all to play for going into PE in July with places still up for grabs in the Super Series Finals, which will take place in Johannesburg at the Wanderers.
